Easy Bread Box Plans
And for another fun build project for your kitchen check out the free build plans for the popular farmhouse paper towel holder.
Easy bread box plans. It is one of those easy projects that will take just as long to make an extra. I made these same bread boxes last christmas as gifts for family. It was pretty much a one man shop and the owner built primarily oak face frame cabinets. The style and design of this wood bread box will add a pleasing focal point to your kitchen counter top.
The box allows air to circulate around the bread so that it receives less moisture than it would in a sealed bag. This particular bread box is based on one of the more common designs and is therefore easier to build than one with a roll top lid. Because i was making two i decided it would be best to use two different construction techniques. Finish is a simple 3 coats of satin poly.
The lift type lid allows easy access and the box size provides for large quantities of bread products to be stored. Both side panels have been routed 3 4 by 3 8 deep all the way around and all the other pieces fit in to the sides. Click here for the complete build plans. Bread boxes are very easy to make and it is almost a crime to consider buying one unless for some reason wood will not go in your kitchen.
