Door Catching On Floor
You can carefully pry up the doorstop with a thin pry bar and re nail to fit the warped door.
Door catching on floor. Doors bind and scrape for several reasons but it s frequently due to loose hinges or slight movement in the building which throws door openings slightly out of square. The door stop is the vertical strip of wood that runs down the center of the door casing which serves to stop the door from swinging any farther. Over time these screws can work their way loose causing the bottom of the door to drag on the floor. I also made sure there is spare space between the top of the door and the frame when it was closed so it can still be closed even when it s a bit higher.
After putting the door back the pieces of wire inside the hinges made it a bit higher and it stopped catching on the floor. When your door opens only part way and scrapes on the floor not allowing it to open fully don t rush for the plane to remove part of the bottom of the door without trying. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws in the top hinge on the door and frame. The dragging door corner can scrape the floor or threshold.
